Rifton adaptive tricycles provide therapeutic, reciprocal exercise with all the fun of riding. This therapeutic trike grows with your child; you adjust it all with the twist of a knob! That’s right, no tools. Rifton adaptive tricycles meet or exceed all ANSI safety standards for special needs tricycles.

Rifton adaptive tricycles may not be appropriate for children with strong involuntary movements or minimal head control. Consult your child’s therapist before ordering.

Communication Tray

The communication tray is easy to clean and designed to hold many things, including your communication device. It comes in two sizes: the large tray fits the Large trike (R140), the small tray fits the Small and Medium trikes (R120 & R130).

Trunk Support System

Trunk support system is ideal for riders who have trouble remaining upright while seated. An optional headrest is available.

Includes: padded backrest, butterfly harness, and two independent lateral supports.

Headrest

A headrest can be purchased with either a flat or contoured headpiece, and adjusts both horizontally and vertically for optimum positioning. The headrest attaches to the trunk support system, tool–free.

Additional Backrest Pad

The additional backrest pad has a security strap and buckle for additional support.

Abductor

The abductor provides comfortable abduction if needed. Just set it in place, tool–free. Abductors for the Medium (R130) and Large (R140) are height–adjustable with a snap button.

Front Guide Bar

Front guide bar has been completely redesigned allowing a caregiver to guide the tricycle from the front to assist a new rider — clamps onto any Rifton tricycle.

Front Pulley

The front pulley system maintains a level pedal position for children whose extreme tone forces the front of the pedal downward.

Reer Steering Bar

Rear steering bar lets a caregiver guide the Rifton tricycle from behind — ideal for riders who can’t steer themselves.

Stationary Stand

Stationary stand converts any Rifton Tricycle into a stationary trainer for pedaling practice or rainy–day activity.

ISO Standards Approval

Australian Standards have been developed to ensure equipment meets recognised safety and reliability criteria. To achieve this status, equipment must pass a series of tests in which it is put under difficult conditions that are designed to be similar to those that the child or adult may face when the equipment is used. For example, wheelchairs are tested for safhas gained Australian Standard acceptance, it provides a sense of satisfaction and reassurance that it is safe to be used and will do the job.
